Another Win For Vitamin D

Yet another study has implicated Vitamin D in maintaining great health, this one a study on the effects of Vitamin D in aiding recovery from a stroke.

In the study, patients who were deficient in Vitamin D and received an injection to bring their levels up showed a big improvement in balance and getting back to normal activities. For a stroke victim, this is a big win.

Strokes that don’t kill often leave survivors with much less of a life than they had before the stroke, many unable to do the normal day-to-day things that make for a pleasant and independent life. Vitamin D helps many to recover.

It is just one more example of the way Vitamin D can help us.

In the past few years, this amazing vitamin has shown itself effective in boosting our immune system, showing effectiveness in preventing cancer, flu, colds, etc., in heart health, in recovery from surgery, etc.

If you haven’t yet, make sure to make testing for the appropriate levels of Vitamin D with a simple blood test. Just ask your doctor to add it. Once you get it, many natural health authorities say you should strive to keep levels between 60 mg/mL and 80 mg/mL, considerably higher than the often recommended range of 20 mg/mL to 50 mg/mL.

You can increase your levels with a quality supplement or, even better, with 30 minutes a day of mid-day sun on your body. Of course, always check with a trusted healthcare professional.

Make sure you make the most of this essential vitamin.
