Healthy Weight Ranges

You could check with your doctor, but my weight watchers pocket guide lists the healthy weight ranges. How tall are you? or I could email you the ranges if you send me your email address.

Easiest way to figure out how many points

The Least complicated way to figure out points is by your current weight.

Weight Point Range
<150..................18-23
150-174...............20-25
175-199...............22-27
200-224...............24-29
225-249...............26-31
250-274...............28-33
275-299...............29-34
300-324...............30-35
325-349...............31-36
>350..................32-37

The current way to figure out points requires answering a set of questions.

1. Take the first two numbers of your weight. ___

2. GENDER?
Female...=2
Male.....=8

3. AGE?
17-26....=4
27-37....=3
38-47....=2
48-58....=1

4. HEIGHT?
Under 5'1"....=0
5'2" - 5'10"..=1
over 5'10"....=2

5. WORK DAY?
Always sitting......=0
Occasionaly standing=1
Occasionaly sitting.=2
Walking alot........=4
Physical work.......=6

Take 1+2+3+4+5 = Total points for the day

+35 points extra for the week as your "backup"

Eg:::

If weight is 249 then #1..+ 24
....female.................+ 2
....age 35.................+ 3
....tall 5'8"..............+ 1
....work sitting..........+ 1
TOTAL POINTS..............= 31 for each day.

Re-do your quiz

...as you lose, have a birthday, or change the way you spend your day.

Also, if you are nursing a baby (and that means the baby ONLY nurses and doesn't eat solids) you need to add 10 points to that target number. If you don't you could have problems with your milk supply. You will still lose. As you cut back on the nursing, cut the points back.

Points Per Day

Is 18 points the lowest points you should go?

Yes

18 points per day is the lowest you should go. Just as 44 points per day is the highest.

Also remember that you have 35 WEEKLY points you can use. These can be distributed throughout the week or used in one day/meal. These do not acumulate. So if you don't use them during that week, you lose them. They also reset. So the next week you get a brand new set of 35 points to use.

It's important to know that if you don't want to use the weekly points, you don't have to. Or if you have hit a plateau then you should avoid them.
